her day…..

my baby turned 7 yesterday….not so much of a baby anymore….
she’s gotten SO big. and she’s so beautiful….so, so beautiful…inside and out….
and what better way to celebrate turning 7 than to have a HUGE birthday bash…..and that is just what we did!!!
so we decided upon these invitations that went out to 30 of her friends and family (yes..please someone tell me that i am absolutely ridiculous to invite 30 6 and 7 year olds to my home for a birthday bash…but you know what…i did it and it was fabulous!)
can you guess the theme we chose? my baby loves halloween just as much as i….oh be still my heart….and what better theme for a party this time of year….my house is jam packed with halloween decorations….it probably would have looked a little strange to have a pinkalicious party in a house adorned for halloween!!!
then it was on to the perfect birthday ansamble (sister had to had something that coordinated as well)
and you can’t have a halloween bash without some frightfully fun foods!!!
special thanks goes out to my wonderful sister for helping me create all of these spooktacular goodies….it was so much fun creating in the kitchen with my big sis!
we also had a table full of snack food to hold us over until the pizza was picked up
the friends started arriving and they were quickly ushered outside where we had the most perfect weather….
we started with a little pumpkin painting until all of the children arrived….
then onto a little witch hate ring toss….
then we moved along to the bean bag toss which i have no pictures of which leads me to believe i was running around like a crazy mad woman….i did this quite frequently throughout the 3 hour party…after the party was over i felt as though i had just jumped off a tilt-a-whirl after being on it forEVER…..
after the bean bag toss we played a rendition of musical chairs…..i deemed these musical steps…the kids loved it and it was the biggest hit of the party!!!!
and a party is not complete without a pinata!!!!! (this year it only took us 2 times to go through all of the children before it was demolished…last year daddy had to take a swing at it….either the pinata wasn’t as strong as it was last year or the kiddos are getting stronger!!!!)
after a fun filled afternoon of craziness…it was time for pizza (which was also demolished just as the pinata was) and birthday cupcakes!!!
close up of the spooky creepy cupcake…each cupcake was topped with a gumball eyeball and a gummy worm…the kids LOVED them!!!

avery had a super birthday party….i was so happy to be able to give it to her…the joy she felt inside could be seen in her eyes and heard in her voice…
she is my baby…she will be my baby forever….i love her with all of my heart!!!!
the only thing missing from her special day was her daddy and he was truly missed, by all of us….
i also want to take a moment to say that this was the largest birthday party we have had….there were a total of 19 children there all together….i will forever prefer to have birthday parties at my home as opposed to a bowling alley or skating rink or what not…it just feels more personal to me….but i would never have been able to pull this off if it hadn’t been for the help of my parents and sister and brother who all traveled from missouri to not only spend avery’s special day with her but to help me pull off the biggest birthday bash ever…so for them i am forever grateful!!!
happy sunday sweet readers
